Wrestling Caps Of Successful Week With Undefeated District Record

The Dragon Wrestlers were in full swing last week beginning with district duals Thursday on the Dragon’s Senior Night and ended in Flower Mound with a big victory in a dual meet.

On Dragon Senior Night, senior Dragon Wrestlers Zach Barz, Tyler Brewster, Jacob Doddridge, Ryan Dooley, Cade Duval, Cameron Haddock, Brandon Hanson, Jake Johnson, Alex Kearney, Mason McMillan, Blake Rutten, Christian Walsh and their parents were recognized.

Dragon fans were loud, enthusiastic and on their feet as the evening concluded with the Boys Varsity dominating the Timber Creek Falcons with their fifteenth team dual win this season.

The Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity then participated in the Coyote Classic Tournament in Frisco on Saturday gaining some valuable mat time as the Dragons head into the end of district duals and prepare for postseason competition.

The Dragons ultimately took home a lot of hardware with the Boys Varsity taking the first place team trophy, Ryan Dooley, Cameron Haddock and Jake Johnson taking first place medals, and Zach Barz, Ben DeLemos, and Jacob Doddridge taking third place medals.  Owen Hollaway’s and Christian Walsh’s earned fourth individually.

To finish off their successful week, Dragon Wrestling took the victory Thursday night in the Flower Mound meet, which gave them an undefeated district record in dual meets.

The Dragons head into postseason meets on February 7, at Timber Creek High School for the District 4-6A Tournament.
