Eubanks Puppet Club Visits Elementary Schools

The Eubanks Puppet Club spent the morning of Friday, March 2, visiting three Carroll ISD elementary schools to perform their puppet show, complete with puppets that they crafted and sewed themselves. They showed off their puppet skills to Eubanks’ three feeder campuses: Carroll Elementary, Old Union Elementary, and Rockenbaugh Elementary.

The EIS Puppet Club is made up of 5th and 6th graders at Eubanks who meet once a week before school. The EIS Puppet Club began in 2007, and after a few years off are back in action. In the past years, they have visited the Primrose campuses to show off their puppets, but this year decided to perform for the students who would be attending Eubanks in the next few years, to showcase the opportunities the Puppet Club has to offer.

“I can’t put into words what these shows do for our Eubanks students. They walk away more confident and knowing what it means to give everything of yourself to bring joy into the world,” said Megan Von Dreau, who leads the puppet club along with Sheri Merritt, both teachers at EIS. “Watching the young students laugh and yell and point at the puppets is a highlight of our school year. These shows bring lots of love and joy to our Eubanks puppeteers and their audience.”

The EIS puppet Club will perform again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, before the EIS Open House, and on March 26 they will be performing for the CISD School Board.
