Dragon Soccer Programs Advance to Playoffs

This week marks the beginning of the UIL Soccer playoffs. 128 teams in each bracket will compete over the coming weeks to see who will be crowned Texas State Champions. Carroll ISD will have both of our programs represented in that bracket as the Dragon Soccer Team and the Lady Dragon Soccer Team have advanced to playoff play.

Dragon Soccer

It came down to the outcome of the last game of the season to secure a playoff seed for the boys, but a late-game goal from sophomore Robi Pino put the Dragons ahead of Byron Nelson and sealed the win. Pino had both goals on the night for the Dragons as they head into a playoff match against undefeated McKinney Boyd at McKinney Boyd HS (600 Lake Forest Dr., McKinney, Texas) on Thursday, March 29 at 7:45 p.m. The Dragons ended their season with a final record of 9-5-4 and fourth overall in District 5-6A.

Lady Dragon Soccer

The Texas No. 1 Ranked Lady Dragons head into playoff action after ending a perfect run through arguably the toughest district in the state of Texas. The Lady Dragons will travel to Flower Mound High School to take on a 4-6-3 Plano West team that finished fourth overall in District 6-6A. The game is Thursday, March 29 at 7:30. The Lady Dragons were lead through an outstanding defense and a high octane offense all season as they finished the regular season 18-1-2 and first over in district 6-5A.
