During the December run, the Carroll Theatre production of “Gypsy” wowed audiences mixed with students, teachers, and parents. The production has also wowed judges in multiple contests that recognize greatness in high school theatre productions. Gypsy has landed numerous nominations from both the High School Musical Theatre Awards, hosted by Dallas Summer Musicals, and the Betty Buckley Awards, hosted by Casa Manana in Fort Worth.
The High School Musical Awards is the second largest of its kind in the country and recognizes the talented theatre programs all around North Texas. There are 16 categories available and the Best Actor and Actress winners receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City where they will represent DSM and The High School Musical Awards at the national level. Gypsy was nominated for the following by the DSM judges:

The DSM Awards will be held on May 17 at Music Hall at Fair Park.
Gyspy also received recognition from Casa Manana’s Buckley Award group. This exciting scholarship award program recognizes talent from all counties across North Texas including, Tarrant, Johnson, Denton, Wise, Parker, Hood and more. Winners in each category will receive a $1,000 dollar scholarship from Buckley’s generous donors. Gypsy was recognized in the following categories:

The Betty Buckley Awards will be held on May 24 at Casa Manana.
The Schmidt and Jones High School Musical Award nominations released on April 30 and Gypsy received numerous nominations. Schmidt and Jones is an awards ceremony that recognizes the top talent in North Texas high school musical theatre. They will be holding their ceremony on May 25, at the Majestic Theatre. Gypsy was recognized in the following categories:
