High School Students Plan “The Dragon Event”

After seeing colleges and other schools complete community and campus-wide service projects, Jacqueline Hall decided that Carroll ISD needed to step up and join in. The Dragon Event is an opportunity for high school students no matter what club, sport or organization they belong to, to come together and serve the community as one big group of Dragons. Hall and her Dragon Event Leadership Team are in the final days of registration for what will certainly be an event that makes a difference.

Registration is still open for the April 7 event that will start off at Dragon Stadium with breakfast and a spirit rally. Once that is complete students will load buses provided by Carroll ISD transportation and will be taken to various locations around Southlake, Keller and other surrounding areas where students will spend time working with a local business or organization where they will serve however they are needed.

The organizations and businesses currently confirmed to be participating in The Dragon Event include Run4Elise, Miracle League, GRACE, Grapevine Housing Authority, Christ’s Haven for Children, The Bowden, Community Storehouse, House of Shine, and Metroport Meals on Wheels.

“This is a great opportunity for the students to come together and really show off Carroll ISD’s core value of Compassionate Service,” Hall said. “We are excited to see everyone come out and serve the community.”

Registration is still open for any high school student interested in joining in on the fun of The Dragon Event. Students can register here through April 4.
