Carroll ISD Announces Robyn McCoart as New Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Carroll ISD has announced Robyn McCoart as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball team. Robyn is a former member of the Lady Dragon Basketball team and a Carroll graduate.

After graduating from Carroll, Robyn was offered a scholarship to play basketball at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, where she graduated in 2002. She continued her education at Tarleton State University, earning a Master of Education in Educational Administration.

Robyn previously coached at Colleyville Heritage High School, where she served as the Varsity Assistant Coach and JV Girls Basketball Coach. Additionally, she was the head of Cross Country and Freshman Volleyball team during her seven years coaching at Colleyville Heritage High School.

I’m excited about what Robyn will bring to the game,” said Superintendent Dr. David Faltys. “She’s the perfect person to lead our Lady Dragon Basketball Program. She has the enthusiasm, abilities, and knowledge of the game, but she also knows the importance of building strong relationships with kids.”

“I took pride in protecting the Dragon tradition as a Lady Dragon basketball player, and I am so excited for the opportunity to continue to protect the tradition as the Coach of the Lady Dragons,” said Robyn McCoart.

Robyn has spent many years as a basketball camp instructor at Colleyville Heritage as well as 5 years coaching for Carroll basketball camps.

During her time as a player at both Carroll and Ouachita Baptist University, Robyn received numerous awards and accolades. She was part of the AAU Junior Olympic National Championship Team in 1997, and then continued her success at the college level where she served as team captain for 2 years, earned the Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, and earned the Gulf South Conference Elite 8 Award.

“We are very excited to welcome Robyn to the Carroll athletic program,” said Interim Athletic Director Paul Pinson. “She brings so much to the table and we look forward to a wonderful experience with her and our student athletes.”
