Round One is Set for Dragon Baseball

Friday night, the Dragon Baseball team celebrated the team’s twenty one seniors, wrapped up the regular season and began prepping for what they hope will be a lengthy playoff run. The Dragons closed the season with a 3-2 victory over Hebron High School.

The Dragons will head into the playoffs with a record of 24 wins and only six loses. They were lead by strong pitching from Nicco Cole, who appeared in 10 games and finished with an impressive 7-0 record. Nicco opened the season with a perfect game.

At the plate, Cade Bell lead all Dragons with a .415 batting average and 23 runs scored. Adam Stevenson and Marcus Hill also had very impressive seasons at the plate hitting .403 and .398 respectively.

The Dragons will head into a three-game Bi-District series against the Plano Wildcats. The Wildcats finished their season up last week with an overall record of 20-9. Game one and two of the series will be played Thursday and Friday at AirHog Stadium in Grand Prairie; both games will begin at 5:00. Game three, if needed, will be played Saturday at Jesuit High School at noon.
