Softball Finishes Season; Head into Bi-District Play

The last week of the regular season was special for the Lady Dragons and their head coach. Coach Tim Stuewe gained his 300th career victory and his team wrapped up their season with an impressive 22-8 record. They will head into the first round of the playoffs this Thursday when they take on Wylie in a best of three series.

Game one of the series will take place Thursday night at the Carroll Senior High School softball complex at 7:00 pm. Game two and three (if needed) will be the following day at Wylie High School. First pitch of game two will be at 6:30 and game three will begin thirty minutes after the conclusion of game two if there is a need for a tiebreaker game.

The Lady Dragons were led at the plate by junior Gaby Garcia this season, who batted an impressive .504 in over 100 plate appearances. Garcia drove in 25 runs on the season and scored 28 on her own.

Junior Allie Nuenke was just one of the many Lady Dragons to excel on the pitcher’s mound this season. In 23 appearances, Nuenke notched a 9-4 record and 3.11 earned run average.
