Three CISD Teachers Receive SAGT Teacher Recognition Awards

Southlake Association for Gifted and Talented (SAGT) has awarded three Carroll ISD teachers for their SAGT Teacher Recognition Awards. Adam Burns from Dawson Middle, Andrea Mendoza from Johnson Elementary and John Kriegshauser from Eubanks Intermediate were named the award winners for the 2017-2018 school year.

As the Media Mania instructor at DMS, Mr. Burns is being recognized for writing advanced curricula that aligns the middle school computer science instruction with the CHS Comp Sci coursework. He is also appreciated for tailoring lesson plans to motivate students to dive deeper into their own specific interest areas in animation and coding.

Mrs. Mendoza,4th grade math and science teacher at JES, is being recognized for creating additional enrichment activities for advanced math students, who will now be better prepared for math tracks at the intermediate school.

Mr. Kriegshauser is recognized for his contagious passion for teaching 6th grade accelerated math at EIS. Mr. Kriegshauser teaches mathematical thinking as a critical life skill that is fun, enlightening and empowering.
