Carroll ISD Announces Two New Hires at June 4 Meeting

The Carroll ISD Board of Trustees and CISD Administration team welcomed two new hires to the June 4 Board Meeting. Mrs. Reigan O’Quinn will be joining the administration team at Old Union Elementary School as their new Assistant Principal and Mrs. Susan Willson will be coming to CISD from Highland Park ISD to serve as the new Director of Child Nutrition.

Reigan O’Quinn, Old Union Elementary’s new Assistant Principal, has thirteen years of experience in education.  She began her educational career as a 2nd-grade teacher at Monday Primary School in Kaufman, TX. The last nine years Mrs. O’Quinn has served at Carroll Elementary as the Science Lab teacher, 2nd-grade teacher, Special Education teacher and the Counselor.  She has been the Counselor at Carroll Elementary for the past four years.

Mrs. O’Quinn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of North Texas and her Masters of Education degree in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University.  Mrs. O’Quinn’s leadership experiences include serving as Co-Coordinator for the K-6 Counseling Department, Team Leader of Special Programs at CES, and many others.

Susan Wilson, Carroll ISD Director of Child Nutrition

Mrs. Susan Wilson, Carroll ISD’ new Director of Child Nutrition, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Dietetics from UT Southwestern Medical Center. She also has dual Master Degrees from Texas Women’s University with a Master of Business Administration and a Master in Food Systems Administration. She is a Registered Dietitian and is the former President of the Child Nutrition Directors of North Central Texas.

She has a broad range of experience that includes over 12 years in the food service field. Mrs. Wilson has been the Director of Food Services with Highland Park ISD for the past 2 years. She oversees the operations of six campuses, including the selection, supervision, and training of managerial staff. She has developed policy and procedures to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance with state laws. She is familiar with the challenges and opportunities of operating a child nutrition program that is not on the National School Lunch Program.
