Construction Alert: Fiber Optic Cable Installation In Town Square

Beginning Thursday, August 9, Verizon is scheduled to begin the Town Square portion of their fiber optic cable installation.

Work will be done on Main Street from Carroll Avenue to Grand Avenue and State Street from Main Street to Federal Way.

What does this mean for traffic?

All work will be completed between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Monday evenings through Thursday evenings to avoid any major disruptions during peak shopping and dining hours. The work is expected to take three weeks.

The majority of the work will be done under the sidewalks and contractors will be removing sections as they work. The work areas will be fenced off while work is in progress and alternate pedestrian routes will be designated for foot traffic.

The Verizon fiber optic cable project will be completed in four phases. Phase one was the recent work along Carroll Ave. The work outlined in the map represents phase two. Phases three and four will also be in Town Square. More information about phases three and four will be shared as work once phase two is completed.
