The Carroll Clay Target Team competed July 14-July 21 in the 2018 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) national championships near Marengo, Ohio.
Over 2700 athletes from 26 states participated in the week-long event with over 1.25 million competition shots fired. Athletes from around the country competed in trap, sporting clays, and skeet events.
The Southlake team won first place in the High School Varsity Division of Sporting Clays and fourth place in Skeet.
Nicholas Godfrey shot a perfect 200 for 200 in the tournament’s skeet competition.
Ten athletes from the Carroll Clay Target Team attended the national championships: Nick Godfrey, Spencer Fairchild, Bennet Gall, Tyler Hall, Sydney Nickel, Matthew Murday, Blake Dorman, Daniel Kieda, Joe Carter, and Nate Hagy. Congratulations to all the athletes.
