Carroll Senior High Earns 21 National Merit Semifinalist

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names this week of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring.

Carroll ISD is proud to announce that 21 of our students have been recognized by the NMSC. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, Semifinalists must advance to Finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standards and all other requirements explained in the information provided to each semifinalist.

National Merit Scholarship winners of 2019 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July. These scholarship recipients will join some 338,000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title.

Carroll Senior High recently received the names of the National Hispanic Scholars and National Commended Students and are excited to have 49 National Commended Students and 14 National Hispanic Scholars.
