For the 19th consecutive year, the Carroll Dragon football team will be heading to postseason play. With the 49-14 victory over the Keller Central Chargers, the Dragons have secured their spot in the District 5-6A playoffs.

The Dragons got off to a hot start this week putting up 21 unanswered points to open the game. Senior T.J. McDaniels scored two early touchdowns and Will Bowers hit Glen Mitchell for a 16-yard touchdown early in the second quarter.

Senior R.J. Mickens displayed this speed with two outstanding punt returns in the first half for 61 yards and 48 yards to keep the Dragons in good field position and poised to add to the score.

Eli Furgal added to his hot performance in the previous week with two touchdown runs. The Dragon defense was tough all evening as well, giving up a total of 14 points that came late in the game.

The Dragons are off to Northwest ISD Stadium on Friday, November 2 to take on V.R. Eaton High School before returning home for Senior Night on November 9 to close the regular season against Timber Creek.
