Arbor Day Proclamation with Tree City USA Award

The City of Southlake is celebrating Arbor Day during the month of November!  To commemorate the occasion, a proclamation was presented to the Planning and Development Services Department by Mayor Laura Hill at the November 8, 2018, City Council meeting.

During the proclamation, the city also received recertification as a designated 2017 Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation. This award has been granted to the city for 21 consecutive years, recognizing its efforts in maintaining excellence in urban forestry management.

The city also received its 16th National Arbor Day Growth Award by creating a tree planting standard to include in the city’s CIP construction plans, as well as establishing a Major Urban Design Plan that includes landscaping, tree planting and tree preservation design implementation.
