Dragon Football Earns 5-6A District Championship

Friday night, the Dragons took their undefeated record on the road to face off with the Eaton Eagles at Northwest ISD stadium. Not only was their perfect record on the line, but with a win, the Dragons could grab the district title. The first play on offense set the tone for this one.

Senior, T.J. McDaniels took the handoff from quarterback Will Bowers and cut upfield for 75 yards and the touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. The Dragons raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Eli Furgam continued his hot streak by adding two more touchdowns. Bowers ended the game with 290 yards passing and two touchdowns.

The Dragon defense put on a clinic as well holding the Eagles to 70 total yards of offense in the game, with 56 of those yards coming on one play in the second quarter. Graham Faloona finished the game with a team-leading 10 tackles.

The Dragons won the game 45-0 and clinched the 5-6A District championship. They will be at home to close out the regular season this Friday, November 9 for Senior Night against Timber Creek. Kickoff is at 7 pm.
