During the December 3 CISD Board Meeting, The Carroll Board of Trustees appointed Janet McDade as acting Superintendent until Dr. David Faltys decides to resume his duties as Superintendent on a full-time basis.
Dr. Faltys has been dealing with a long-term family medical situation and is currently on leave to spend more time with his wife and children. The medical situation does not involve his own personal health.
McDade is the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services and will be supported by the Superintendent’s Cabinet while serving in this temporary role. McDade has earned her Superintendent Certification from the state of Texas and is currently in the final stages of earning her doctorate from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has spent just over two years in her current role with CISD.
Before joining Carroll ISD, McDade served as the Garland ISD Executive Director of School Transformation where she provided support to the Superintendent, Executive Council Members, and various other members of district leadership.
CISD Board President, Sheri Mills, is confident that McDade and the Superintendent’s Cabinet will continue to lead the district in the right direction during this time.
“Dr. Faltys has the Board of Trustees’ full support while he is on leave, and we are continually keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers. We look forward to his return.” Mills said. “The Board has confidence in Mrs. McDade and the CISD Cabinet to continue the everyday operation of Carroll ISD. Mrs. McDade and the Cabinet understand and are committed to the district’s mission, and will continue to strive for excellence for all students.”
