Super Kid Author Partners with CEF to Fund a Teacher

Walnut Grove fourth grader, Abigail Perez is partnering with the Carroll Education Foundation to help “Fund A Teacher”. Perez is the best-selling author of “How to be a Super Kid” and will be donating 50% of the proceeds from her book sales to CEF.

#SuperKidChallenge Accepted!

CEF’s goal is to raise fund for the district to fund 11 teachers. By funding these teachers, CEF can have an immediate impact on the educational experience for students across Carroll ISD.

Abigail recently wrote and starred in a music video with popular pop star Brotha James. This video helped kick off the “How to be a Super Kid” Challenge and CEF Campaign. Abigail has challenged kids everywhere to take a picture with their friends or family holding a piece of paper that shares what their superpower is on social media by using the hashtags #CEFSuperKid, #SuperKidChallenge, and #HowToBeASuperKid, and also to purchase your copy of “How to be a Super Kid on Amazon so the funds can go back to helping support CISD teachers.

Leighanne Christon, Director of Development for CEF, is happy that Abigail chose to partner with CEF.

CEF is honored to be partnering with CISD’s Best!  Abigail Perez is a 10-year-old, 4th grader at Walnut Grove Elementary with a mission to make a difference and help raise awareness on the importance of funding CISD teachers”, Christon said.  “Abigail chose to partner with the CEF as a way to give back to the community that has inspired and supported her in writing her best seller.”
