Amy Shelley Named City Secretary

The Southlake City Council has named former Deputy City Secretary Amy Shelley, as City Secretary

Shelley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and HR management from Concordia University in May of 2010. She received her Texas Registered Municipal Clerks Certification in January of 2013.

Shelley has more than 15 years of experience working for city governments in various positions. She started her municipal career in 2003 as a permit clerk for the City of Westworth Village.

She then served more than ten years with the City of Colleyville as Planning and Zoning Assistant, Community Development Coordinator, and then as City Secretary.

Since receiving her municipal clerk designation, Amy has served in several leadership positions with the North Texas Municipal Clerks Association including Board Secretary, Historian, and Treasurer.

Shelley started her career with the City of Southlake in 2017 as the Deputy City Secretary. She worked alongside Carol Borges, who recently passed away after a brief illness.

In her capacity as City Secretary, she serves as the administrative support to the Mayor and City Council, coordinates municipal elections, prepares City Council agendas and packets, posts all City Council-appointed boards’ meeting agendas, maintains City records, and preserves the City’s legislative history.
