Dragon Soccer Teams Roll Into Playoffs

A “new season” starts for both Dragon Soccer programs on Friday when the 5-6A District Champion Dragon and Lady Dragon soccer teams begin their playoff runs. Both teams will be in Bi-District action.

Dragon Soccer wrapped up their undefeated regular season last week with a 6-0 victory against Timber Creek. The Dragons ended their season with a 2–0-3 overall record and a district record of 11-0-3. The Dragon offense scored an impressive 75 total goals on the season while only allowing nine for their opponents.

The Dragons head into a matchup with the #4 seed Hebron Hawks. Hebron finished their season with an overall record of 11-8-3 and 6-6-2 in District 6-6A. The two teams will face off at Hebron High School on Friday at 7:00.

The Lady Dragons celebrated their Class of 2019 Seniors with an impressive win in their final game of the season over Timber Creek as well. The Lady Dragons won that contest 3-0 on goals from Taylor Tufts, Sydney Nobles, and Madi Drenowatz. The Lady Dragons ended their season with 21-2-2 overall record and a district mark of 12-1-1.

The Lady Dragons will enter the playoffs with a matchup against Flower Mound. The two teams will face off at Northwest ISD Stadium at 7:30 on Friday evening. If you plan on attending this game, please be aware that it is race weekend and traffic may be heavy as you head into and out of the stadium.
