Lady Dragons Clinch Fourth Consecutive District Championship

With the 6-0 victory over the Lady Eagles of Eaton High School, the Lady Dragon Soccer team clinched their fourth consecutive district championship.

With the victory, the Lady Dragons took their season record to 20-1-2 overall and 11-1-1 in District 5-6A. The Lady Dragons got on the board quick in their matchup against the Lady Eagles with a Taylor Tufts goal off of an assist from senior Kendall Gilpin. Less than a minute later, Sarah Hornyak added another to the scorecard on the assist from Syd Nobles.

Madi Drenowatz added three goals of her own and senior goalkeeper Madi Martin shut Eaton Down for her 12th shutout of the season. This was Martin’s 89th career varsity start which moved her to ninth on the all-time starts list for the Lady Dragons.

The Lady Dragons will return home on Friday to finish out their season and celebrate the graduating seniors from the Class of 2019 with a special Senior Night ceremony. Kickoff is 7:30.
