Varsity Winterguard Advances to World Championship

After bringing home the gold medal from the NTCA National “A” Championships, the Varsity Winterguard is headed to Dayton, Ohio to compete in the WGI World Championship. The Carroll Guard has been competing in WGI regional and state competitions since February, traveling all over DFW and even to Tulsa, Oklahoma, racking up victories allowing them to qualify for the upcoming world championship.

Founded in 1977, WGI Sport of the Arts has grown to include nearly 1,000 color guards competing with WGI. Winter Guard now exists in Africa, Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand and the United States. The WGI competitive season began in February and finishes this week at the Color Guard World Championships. Congratulations to these students traveling to Ohio this week:
