UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the April 17 Health & Wellness Open House was canceled. It has been rescheduled for May 14 at 5 p.m. and the format has been changed. The open house will take place in the lobby of Town Hall starting at 5 p.m. followed by a SPIN Town Hall Forum, where the Health & Wellness Master plan will be presented.
The plan focuses on topics such as built and natural environment, aging population, mental and physical health and community resiliency. The open house and Town Hall Forum will allow citizens the opportunity to attend and provide valuable comments on the plan.
The 2035 Health & Wellness Master Plan Committee was appointed by Southlake City Council in June 2018. The committee held their kick-off meeting in August 2018 and has since met numerous times to develop recommendations for the plan.
Health & Wellness Open House
“Community health and wellness continues to grow as a popular topic in future planning efforts”, said Senior Planning and Development Services Director Ken Baker. “Recommendations included within the 2035 Health & Wellness Master Plan allow us to stay proactive in addressing strategies that promote health and wellness. We encourage residents to attend the Health & Wellness Open House, as this provides a great opportunity for our stakeholders to give us highly valued input and feedback”.
A draft version of the Health & Wellness Master Plan is available on the City’s website. There is also a feedback form on the Health & Wellness web page for residents to submit questions or comments directly to planning staff regarding this plan.
