Congratulations to the Carroll Middle School Wind Ensemble for being selected as a 2020 Music for All National Festival performing group! As one of only twelve middle schools in the entire country to be invited, CMS will be performing on this national stage during Spring Break 2020 in Indianapolis!!
The invitation to perform at this festival is extended only to middle school band programs who have met a high performance standard, which was evaluated via recorded submission at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Even though it will be this year’s Wind Ensemble that will represent the CMS Band program at the festival in March, the opportunity wouldn’t be possible without the tremendous contribution from last year’s 8th grade class – thank you so much for your consistent leadership and musicianship throughout the 2018-2019 school year! The CMS Band staff couldn’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication put forth by all of our young musicians to make this opportunity a reality. We would also like to extend our never-ending appreciation to our band parents and families for their incredible support of the CMS Band program.
Here is a little information about the Music for All National Festival:
“Middle school ensembles attending the Music for All National Festival can expect an exhilarating and educationally rewarding experience. Students have the opportunity to participate in a master class with a noted professional performer on their instrument and also have the opportunity to listen to other middle school and high school bands, orchestras and percussion ensembles from all over the nation. Ensembles are evaluated in a non-competitive environment. Each receives a post-concert clinic, a student social, special opening session and Gala Awards Banquet for the middle school participants.”
