Southlake Chess Players Take Top Honors at Texas State Junior Chess Teams Championships

On October 5, the 2019 Texas State Junior Chess Team Championships (sponsored by the Texas Chess Association) were hosted locally by Southlake Tutoring Academy. Over 200 players participated from all across the state, including five teams of Southlake locals.

The tournament featured three sections of competition: championship, reserve under 800, and novice. The Southlake teams dominated the highly competitive tournament; most notably with teams STA Magic taking 3rd place and STA Storm taking 1st place respectively. Many of our Dragons also stood out individually by winning trophies for their outstanding performances!
