Southlake Police K-9 Officer Anderson and Duco Take Home Awards

On Saturday October 12th, 2019, Officer Anderson and Duco competed in the 2nd Annual Canine Skills and Agility Competition at AirHogs Stadium and brought home some new honors to Southlake.

Officer Anderson and Duco won the “Hard Dog Competition” and the “Top Narcotics Dog Competition.”  They also tied for 1st place for the overall award, but later did not win the tiebreaker.

Eighteen teams competed, representing fourteen police departments across the metroplex.  The competition focused on building narcotics searches, vehicle narcotics searches, patrol vehicle and building apprehension, and “hard dog, fast dog.”

For the first time, the event was open to the public.

“I’m extremely proud of the way Duco performed during the competition,” Officer Anderson said.  “It’s a blessing when you can see the results of your dedication to training and always challenging yourself to be better.  We competed against some great teams from across the metroplex and everyone represented their cities well.”
