Dragons Football’s Record Tying Performance Propels them into Round 2

The first two quarters of Friday night’s game were one for the history books.

The Dragons went into the break with a 63-0 lead on the Lewisville Farmers, a Dragon record for most points scored in any first half. They finished the game advancing on to the second round with a record-tying 83-6 final score.

The points came early and often after the opening kick for the Dragons. On the first play from scrimmage, senior Brady Boyd took the ball 66 yards for the Dragon’s first touchdown. Freshman Owen Allen would add four more touchdowns to his resume on the night. Allen ended the night with 178 yards on the ground.

Senior R.J Mickens got in on the scoring as well when sophomore Quinn Ewers connected with Mickens for 67 yards in the first half. Ewers ended the game with 306 yards on 11 completions.

The Dragons defense held the Farmers to six total points on the evening with their stellar play. Senior Graham Faloona led the Dragons with 11 total tackles, senior Dylan Thomas added another interception to his season stats.

The Dragons advance onto round two for a rematch of last year’s area round against the Desoto Eagles. Last year, the Dragons defeated the Eagles 41-20 last year in the same round.
