Expanding Mobility on Southlake Boulevard/FM 1709 near Southridge Lakes and Byron Nelson Parkway

Mobility improvements are steadily moving forward along Southlake Boulevard! City Council recently approved an Engineering Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates to provide engineering design services for the right turn lane and traffic sign improvements along Southlake Boulevard at the Southridge Lakes and Byron Nelson Parkway intersections at the November 5 City Council meeting.

In its current configuration, traffic flow on Southlake Boulevard is delayed due to motorists slowing down to make right turns onto Southridge Lakes and Byron Nelson Parkway. By constructing right turn deceleration lanes at both locations, it will improve safety, convenience and allow mobility to be more efficient on Southlake Boulevard. These enhancements will also require the relocation of the existing traffic signal facilities and upgrades to pedestrian facilities.

Kimley Horn and Associates will provide design surveys, preliminary and final design plans, bidding phase services and construction phase services.
