Carroll ISD wants to empower students to face life’s challenges by growing into braver, smarter and stronger individuals. In order to provide resources for parents, you are invited to Parent University on Saturday, February 22, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Carroll High School. Join safety and mental health experts as they share their knowledge on Self-Care & Mental Wellness, Health & Nutrition, Conflict Resolution & Coping Skills, Bully Prevention & Kindness, Self Defense & Personal Safety, Drug & Alcohol Education and Suicide Prevention, the seven focus areas of The Resiliency Project.
The Resiliency Project is the focus of Parent University and Carroll ISD hopes to provide helpful resources and information sessions for parents to learn about the ways that Carroll ISD is encouraging resilience in students, and also how that resilience can be encouraged at home. The day will be filled with helpful resources through an Information Fair, Breakout Sessions and guest speakers. See below for the full schedule for Parent University:
The Breakout Sessions include presentations from CISD Faculty & Staff, Southlake Police, Baylor Scott & White, Assistant US Attorney Rick Calvert, and more. Along with Carroll ISD, experts from these community partners hope to educate and encourage parents how to best help their children affected by the seven focus areas of The Resiliency Project.
Attendees of Parent University will receive refreshments in the morning and lunch as part of their registration. Please register here and join us for Parent University on February 22.
