Lady Dragon Swim/Dive Earns Second Straight State Title; Dragons Finish Fourth

The Dragon Swimming and Dive teams were in action this past Friday and Saturday at the 2020 UIL 6A Texas State HS Swim/Dive Championships in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas Swim Center. The Lady Dragons clinched their second consecutive UIL State Championship and the Boy’s Swim/Dive team finished fourth overall.

There were 235 teams on site that represented in UIL 6A Texas High School Swimming and Diving division.

The Lady Dragon Swimmers and Divers were all business the entire weekend, dominating the team championship by 49 points, 284 to 235 over Kingwood HS. The girls earned four of nine individual champions and won two of three relays, along with three additional runner-up individual finishes and a 3rd place finish in another relay.

The Dragon moved from 7th to 4th, accelerating as a team from a projected point total of 98 pts to 140 points in the final team standings. An excellent team effort by all of the Dragon Boy swimmers and divers at the state meet.
