Construction Continues Through Closures

During the April 20 School Board meeting, the Board of Trustees heard an update about the ongoing construction from the 2017 Carroll Bond. Construction companies have been deemed essential and construction is continuing at each of the current sites in Carroll ISD.

With schools moving online for the remainder of the school year, many projects have moved their summer timelines forward due to the availability of the campuses.

Rockenbaugh Elementary and Walnut Grove Elementary have both broken ground on their projects.

The new addition at the Rockenbaugh Elementary will serve as the Pre-K wing for the campus and also an ICC 500 storm shelter able to withstand 250 MPH winds. RES is getting new driveways and additional parking as well. The campus will get covered canopies for student drop-off and pick-up areas.

Over at Walnut Grove Elementary, new construction will add two separate wings that will each have two classrooms and each will be built as an ICC 500 Storm Shelter able to withstand 250 MPH winds. They are also getting some safety-related additions that will provide additional layers of security and door locking systems to prevent intruders or unauthorized persons into the academic wings. The front circle parking area, which was originally a “grasscrete” product, will be repaved for additional permanent parking.

As these projects begin to take shape, the district has placed webcams on-site so the community can view the progress.

The Music Center at Carroll Senior High School looks a bit different than the last time it was featured during the Carroll ISD Slab Signing Party. The construction has gone vertical and the entire complex is starting to take shape. This venue will be a state of the art performance and practice facilities for the great fine arts programs.

Construction on the theatre and other indoor facilities at Carroll Senior High School has also begun. Extra-curricular projects including the baseball/softball complex, indoor facility, and the practice fields were recently completed.

Carroll High School’s track, which will serve as the district’s main track venue, has also been completed.

Over at Dragon Stadium, there has been quite of bit of progress on the addition of restrooms to the outside of the stadium. These restrooms will be added onto the front side of the home stands and will be available from the outside of the stadium. Also, the replacement of the older stadium green back reserved seats will begin soon.

Dawson Middle and Eubanks Intermediate will be adding covered canopies for student drop-off and pick-up areas.
