Dragon AD Challenges Student-Athletes During Closure

Late last week, Executive Director of Athletics for Carroll ISD Steve Keasler posted a video message on his social media account that kicked off his student-athlete challenge during the emergency closure. Keasler hopes these little challenge videos will help motivate and encourage Dragon athletes to be active during this unexpected time apart.

“We have all been quarantined for some time and we are all getting antsy,” Keasler said in his video post. “I want to issue a twitter challenge to all our coaches and athletes and have fun with it.

His first challenge video to the Dragon football team, Keasler recreated a famous moment in Dragon Head Coach Riley Dodge’s career and challenged the current coaches and players to do the same.

Keasler hopes that these little challenge videos can boost the morale of his athletes and teams during this difficult time of change.

“In athletics, as in life, sometimes we are dealt with negative situations but ultimately what we do with it determines our character,” Keasler said. “I hope this challenge makes a positive impact and puts a smile on the faces of those who have impacted me the most, our student-athletes and coaches. A smile and a laugh can go a long way in our world!”
