Rockenbaugh Elementary Implements New Traffic Pattern

Over the summer months, Rockenbaugh Elementary has been under construction with projects funded by the 2017 Carroll Bond. Part of this construction has allowed the campus to redesigned it’s traffic pattern for drop-off and pick-up.

The entrance closest to FM 1709/Southlake Blvd. (identified in yellow on the attached map) will be dedicated to Pre-K drop-off and pick up only. Parents will be able to pull in through this entrance, proceed to the back of the building, and drop off their Pre-K students in the designated drop-off location between 7:40 and 8:00 each day. In the afternoon, parents will be able to pick up their students at the same location beginning at 2:50.

The entrance closest to Continental (identified in black on the attached map) will be the drop-off and pick-up route for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. This two-lane entrance will take cars to the rear drop-off area and then turn them around and they will exit the same entrance they came in. The exit lane will narrow down to one lane and parents will be expected to turn right on Byron Nelson out of the exit lane towards FM 1709/Southlake Blvd. Drop-off for K-4 students is between 7:30 and 8 am, and pickup begins at 3:00.

The center entrance (identified in blue on the attached map) will be dedicated to Carroll ISD Transportation and any before or after school program vehicles.

Below these different entrances are shown in the new Rockenbaugh Traffic Flow map.
