Carroll ISD Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent for Financial Services

During the August 3 Board Budget Workshop, the CISD School Board approved the hiring of Mr. William Wooten as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent for Financial Services.

Wooten comes to Carroll ISD after serving as the Chief Financial Officer in Ferris ISD for two years and Director of Financial Services for DeSoto ISD for five years.

Additionally, Wooten served in the United States Navy for twenty-two years, where he held multiple positions in the area of finance.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Prairie View A&M and his Master of Business Administration and Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Wooten’s professional membership resume includes being recognized as a Registered Texas School Business Administrator within TRSBA, and he is a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations (SFO).

During his introduction, Wooten shared his excitement to jump in headfirst and start working for Dragons around the district.

“I am honored to be a part of this Dragon family,” Wooten said. “I want you to know I am committed to this role, committed to this community, but most importantly I am committed to doing right by kids.”

Wooten will be replacing Scott Wrehe who recently became the Chief Financial Officer for Keller ISD.
