Applications Now Open for 2020-2021 District Committees

The Carroll School Board is inviting interested parents and taxpayers to volunteer their time and expertise on several Carroll ISD Standing Advisory Committees, including the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), the District Advisory Committee, School Safety and Security Committee and more.

Members will serve for two years on staggered terms. All members of all standing committees will be required to go through the EZ Volunteer Background Check procedure before they are able to serve on their selected committee.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, committee meetings during the 2020-2021 school year will more than likely take place virtually or with social distancing guidelines firmly enforced. Carroll ISD is working to limit the number of volunteers present on campuses and in district facilities.

Completed applications must be returned to the Superintendent’s Office, 2400 N. Carroll Avenue, or emailed to Barbara.Yelton@southlakecarroll.edu by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 19. Submitting an application does not necessarily guarantee participation on a committee. Members of the SHAC must be accepted and voted into their positions by the Carroll School Board. The membership of some committees, like the District Advisory Committee, must comply with state law.

In addition to the committees mentioned above, the Board also operates an Audit Committee and a Budget & Finance Committee.
