Lady Dragon Volleyball Wraps Up Season in Epic Five Set Match

The 2020 Lady Dragon Volleyball season came to an end over the Thanksgiving holiday in the UIL Regional Quarterfinal against the defending state champion, Byron Nelson.

The Lady Dragons and the Bobcats are familiar with each other after splitting their district matches this season with both teams winning one on their home courts.

After falling behind 2-1 in the match, the Lady Dragons fought from behind to force a decisive fifth game. In the sprint to 15 points, the Lady Dragons kept it close but ended up falling to Bobcats 15-12.

The Lady Dragons got to the regional quarterfinals by defeating Boswell and Frenship both by a score of 3-0 in the first two rounds of the uIL playoffs.

The squad will graduate five seniors this season including Keagan Polk, Natalie Glenn, and Laura Brambilla. Polk recently signed her letter of intent to play collegiate volleyball at Baylor University. Glenn will be attending and playing volleyball at Minnesota and Brambilla will be attending and playing volleyball at the University of Washington.

The Lady Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 14-6, finishing third in District 4-6A, which is widely considered the toughest district in the state of Texas. Both Byron Nelson and V.R. Eaton are still alive in the UIL playoffs out of District 4-6A. All-District announcements for volleyball should be released soon.
