Tennis Continues Hot Streak Through Playoffs; Earns Regional Final Appearance

The Dragon Tennis team has been on a winning streak since the beginning of district play this semester, and that hot streak has continued well into the playoffs.

Dragon Tennis defeated rival Coppell this past Friday to advance to the Regional I Final. This was the second time that the Dragons have faced off against Coppell and the second time the Dragons brought home the victory. With the 10-7 win, the Dragons will advance to the Region Final on against Plano West on Tuesday at Marcus High School at 5 p.m.

The Dragons knocked off Trinity High School, Midland High School, San Angelo, and Coppell to get to the Region Final. The Dragons did not allow a point until the third round of the playoffs against San Angelo.

On October 20, the Dragons wrapped up their tenth consecutive district title with a victory over Fossil Ridge, which capped off an undefeated run through District 5-6A.

The Regional Final will be a rematch from earlier in the season which saw the Dragons fall to Plano West in a tough match at Plano West. If the Dragons can come out of this match as Region I Champions, they will be off to the UIL State Tournament.
