Two Dragon Football Players Sign Letters of Intent

Carroll Senior High School and the Carroll Athletic Department hosted an event on Wednesday morning to recognize two Dragon Football players who are going to continue their education and football careers at the next level. Joe McFadden and Brady Boyd had their opportunity to sign their National Letters of Intent in front of their families and Dragon teammates.

Kicker Joe McFadden will be attending the University of Connecticut. McFadden has been a part of the Dragon since his freshman year. According to the website MaxPreps, over his four-year varsity career, McFadden has accounted for over 250 points for the Dragons.

Coach Riley Dodge is excited to see what his kicker can do at the next level.

“Joe is one of the most prolific kickers this program has ever seen and that says a lot for a program that has produced so many high talent kickers,” Dodge said. “Joe is one of our team leaders and he is going to have a great career at UConn and beyond.”

Receiver Brady Boyd will be attending Minnesota and joining the Golden Gopher football in the fall. Over his three-year varsity career, Boyd has been one of the top targets for his Dragon quarterbacks. Accumulating over 1900 yards and 21 touchdowns over his three seasons, Boyd may be best known for his catch in the Dragon playoff run that landed him in the Sportscenter Top 10 Plays of the Day.

“The skies the limit for Brady Boyd,” Dodge said. “Based solely on his work ethic, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he has received the recognition he deserves this season. He is a talented receiver that is going to play very well for P.J.Fleck and the Golden Gophers.”
