The 2020 Lady Dragon Volleyball season came to an end over the Thanksgiving holiday in the UIL Regional Quarterfinal against the defending state champion, Byron Nelson.
The Lady Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 14-6, finishing third in District 4-6A, which is widely considered the toughest district in the state of Texas. Many of the Lady Dragons have received recognitions for their accomplishments on and off the court during this season.
Senior Natalie Glenn, who has committed to play at Minnesota, was recognized as an Under Armor Second Team All-American, District 4-6A Most Valuable Player, and District 4-6A Academic All-District.
Keagan Polk has been recognized as an Under Armor Honor Mention All American; District 4-6A Defensive Player of the year, and District 4-6A Academic All-District.
In order to be recognized as Academic All-District, the student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 90 during the season as well as other criteria. Including Glenn and Polk, the Lady Dragons had 19 players recognized. These players include Lauren Aguirre, Laura Brambilla, Devon Chocholek, McKenzie Cutler, Courtney Darrah, Jessica Dunn, Dani Engels, Gabi Engels, Riley Hatton, Ashley Irvine, Audrey Irvine, Audrey Kubiak, Mia Matin, Avery Preston, Anna Proskovec, Jordan Tucker, and Kaylee Young.
Brambilla and Dunn were recognized as First Team All-District. Cutler, Kubiak, and Darrah were members of the All-District Second Team. Engel and Young received Honorable Mention All-District.
