CISD Special Programs To Host College and Career Transition Fair

On February 10, the Carroll ISD Special Programs Department will host their annual College and Career Transition Fair. Due to current regulations in place for large group gatherings, this event will be held virtually this year.

This Fair will help students and their families with learning differences and/or Section 504 plans gain knowledge about various schools, application processes, career opportunities, department of disabilities services and transition needs when pursuing postsecondary education or training.

This event is an opportunity for parents and students to be able to hear directly from colleges and career professionals. In the past, the fair has featured keynote speakers and then the parents and the students could visit various colleges or trade schools and learn about their specific programs. That is the goal this year but we will have to do it virtually. Parents will have multiple opportunities during the day to meet with professionals during virtual breakout sessions.

In the past, numerous students have taken the information gathered at this event and have used it to apply and enter into college programs.
