Dragon Swim and Dive Sweep District Meet

In a two-day event that was streamed for those who could not attend, the Dragon Swim and Dive teams brought home the District Championship and qualified many student-athletes for the UIL Regional Meet in two weeks.

On Friday, the Dragon Dive teams kicked off the meet with an impressive showing from all who competed. Hailey Hernandez finished first in the competition and was named District 5-6A Girl of the meet. Jackson Miller won the meet for the Dragon Divers and was named District. 5-6A Boy of the Meet. Five divers in total will advance to the UIL Regional Meet in Lewisville.

Both the Boy’s and Girl’s team continued the weekend with dominating performances in the pool. The boy’s relay teams earned first place in the 200-meter medley relay, 200-meters free, and 400-meter free relay. The girl’s won the 200-meter free relay and the 400-meter free relay to qualify for Regionals. Individually the Lady Dragons won five out of nine individual events and the boys won eight out of nine individual events.

The student-athletes that qualified for regionals will compete in two weeks at the Lewisville Westside Aquatic Center for the chance to advance to the UIL 6A State Championships in late February.
