Window to Change Instructional Model for Fourth Nine Weeks Is Open

With the regulations in place from the COVID-19 pandemic, Carroll ISD is offering Dragon families the opportunity to choose their instructional model every nine weeks.

Dragons can choose between Dragon Virtual Academy and face to face instruction. The window to submit changes began on February 8 and the deadline for making your declaration to the campus principal by March 1 at 3:30 p.m.

CISD is providing multiple resources to assist parents and students in this decision. On the Carroll ISD website, parents will find two important pages that can hopefully help the choice become more clear for Dragon families.

The Carroll ISD COVID-19 dashboard is a real-time update on what is occurring in the district. Active cases for both staff and students identify the total number of lab-positive cases that are still considered “positive”. Once a staff member or student tests negative and returns to campus, they are moved to the “recovered” column of the chart. If parents are wanting to know an overall look at how many cases the District has worked through this school year, they will want to add the total recovered cases with the number of active cases.

The other resource available is the “Choice of Instruction” page on the District’s COVID-19 update page. This page is an updated chart that shows the number of students who are currently in Dragon Virtual Academy and Face to Face Instruction.

The deadline to report your instructional choices for the fourth nine weeks is March 1 at 3:30. The fourth nine weeks will begin on March 22, 2021.
