Southlake Senior Activity Center Safely Reopening May 3

The Senior Activity Center is excited to welcome back Southlake Seniors on May 3.

The Senior Center will open its doors back up for Phase 1 of its reopening plan next Monday. We are looking forward to safely bringing back our seniors to the Senior Center and continue building our community.

Senior Center staff are taking a comprehensive approach and following rigorous sanitation protocols to ensure the safety of our guests, staff, and community. Senior Center staff are wearing face masks, and there is a sneeze guard on the front desk.

The facility will undergo weekly deep cleaning and sanitization, including increased cleaning of high traffic areas. Hand-sanitizing stations are available throughout the facility for your convenience. Members are encouraged to disinfect any items they bring into the Senior Center before entering.

Here’s what you need to know about the Phase 1 safety measures at the Senior Center.

Senior Center Lounge and Café

  • Lounge and Café are open with physical distancing protocols in place.
  • Coffee and refreshments will not be available at this time. Guests may bring their own.

Fitness room and Parlor:

  • The Fitness room is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • The Parlor is open during business hours at member discretion.
  • Disinfectant sprays are readily available.

The Monday Metroport Meals On Wheels Pre-Packaged Meal Program and Senior Activity Center’s outdoor special events remain outdoor events. Advance registration is required.

Group fitness classes will be offered in Phase 2. Indoor special programs will not be scheduled until a later phase.

Together, we can ensure the safe reopening of the Southlake Senior Center.

“We are excited to welcome our senior members back and are looking forward to providing world-class service to our well-deserved senior community. We have missed them and can’t wait to start a new beginning!” – Soheila Phelps, Senior Services Coordinator.

Check out the Senior Activity Center website for more detailed information on how we are safely reopening and to stay on top of our programming.
