CISD Streamlines Open Records Process

Ledbetter Focuses on Improved Process, Communication

Today, CISD announced a streamlined open records process to ensure the receiving and tracking of all open records requests for the 2021-22 school year. This process will also allow the district to keep a log of all open records, as well as improving the understanding of the overall open records process as outlined by the State of Texas. This process includes a form for all requesters to submit their information, the district is automatically notified a request has been submitted and then it is also automatically logged with timestamp and tracked. To submit an open records request, click here, or visit the district website to submit your request.

“Our hope is to always improve our processes especially when it comes to customer service,” Lane Ledbetter, Superintendent of Schools said. “This next step in tracking and monitoring requests will be of great benefit to our staff and community.” Additionally, the open records requests division has been assigned to the communications and engagement department led by Executive Director Karen Fitzgerald. With this reorganization, the district hopes to build better communication and relationships with our citizens. For more information, visit the Open Records portion of the district website.
