Dawson Middle School Welcomes New Assistant Principal

Dawson Middle School welcomed their newest Assistant Principal, Jason Deardorff, to campus on Thursday, August 26! Deardorff joins Principal Stephen Langford and Assistant Principal Shatina Lewis on the Dawson Middle School leadership team.

Deardorff joins Carroll ISD from Northwest ISD, where he most recently was serving as a middle school science teacher. Prior to his time in Northwest ISD, Deardorff worked at Grapevine Middle School and Canyon ISD and River Road ISD in Amarillo.

“I have been welcomed with open arms here at Dawson Middle School,” said Deardorff. “I have felt like a part of Dragon Nation since day one, and I couldn’t be more excited to join a district with such great history and tradition.”

Outside of his classroom duties, Deardorff serves as a Summer School Assistant Principal, Case Manager and Lead Teacher, as well as doing an Assistant Principal Internship from 2017-2019. He has had experience as department team leads, as well as a Student Mentor and member of the District Education Improvement Council in his previous district.

“We are so thrilled to be adding Mr. Deardorff to our leadership team at Dawson Middle,” Principal Stephen Langford said. “His energy and expertise are going to be a huge asset to the students, staff and families here in Carroll ISD.”
