Stephen Langford Named New Principal at Dawson Middle School

At the August 2 Board Meeting the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve Stephen Langford as the new Principal at Dawson Middle School. Langford has served in Carroll ISD for 15 years, the last seven of those as the Assistant Principal at Dawson Middle School. As part of the interview process, Dr. Lane Ledbetter, Superintendent of Schools, convened an interview committee with parents and teachers to review applications and interview top candidates.

“With Mr. Langford serving as our new principal, we know our ongoing pursuit of excellence will continue for every Dawson Dragon,” said Ledbetter. “He is known for his relationship building with students, parents and staff along with the Dragon culture.”

As an educator, Langford has 16 years of experience, 15 of which have been in Carroll ISD, having served as a social studies teacher, coach, and Assistant Principal.

“I am honored and excited to serve Dawson Middle School as the new Principal,” said Langford. “Serving as an educator is more than just a job, it’s my passion. Serving all children is at the core of helping our Dragons learn and grow. I am looking forward to this coming school year as we pursue the tradition of excellence together.”
