Board of Trustees Approves New Carroll ISD Director of Transportation

The Board of Trustees unanimously voted at the August 2 Board Meeting to approve Jason Gillis as the new Director of Transportation for Carroll ISD. Gillis has been serving as a Director of Transportation for the last four years in Everman ISD, and his additional experience in transportation services include six years as the Assistant Director of District Operations/Transportation in Mansfield ISD and seven years in other transportation roles in Alvarado ISD.

“We are very excited to have Mr. Gillis join our Carroll ISD Transportation team as the new Director,” said Matt Miller, Carroll’s Assistant Superintendent for Operations. “Mr. Gillis comes to us with a variety of school operations experience from teacher, coach, bus driver, campus administrator and transportation department leadership that will help us continue to provide top notch transportation services for our students.”

Gillis also has many years of experience as a classroom teacher, coach, Assistant Principal and Principal. In his latest role he oversaw a fleet of over 50 school buses and the first four electric buses in Texas. Gillis comes to Carroll ISD with a servant leader attitude, a wealth of transportation knowledge, and a passion for transporting children safely to and from school.
