This July, We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation” at the City of Southlake Community Services Department

This July, join the City of Southlake’s Community Services Department for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how the City of Southlake is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation. We have a full schedule of how residents of all ages and abilities can celebrate this month—so make sure to check out our official 2022 Park and Recreation Calendar.

Southlake’s Community Services Department is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to share their experience, memories, and stories about what parks and recreation mean to them. With everything from our award-winning recreation facility, The Marq, world-class community parks, innovative programs, and the incredible Bob Jones Nature Center, there are plenty of ways that you can celebrate with us, as well!

“The theme We Rise Up is extremely appropriate for the individuals that make up the Community Services Department because they are a diverse and talented group of people who are constantly rising up to the occasion to fulfill our department’s mission to provide world-class experiences for the citizens of Southlake” stated David Miller, Deputy Director of Community Services.

NRPA and the City of Southlake encourage everyone that supports parks and recreation to share how it has improved their quality of life, as well as why their local park and recreation professionals are important to them, on social media with the hashtag #RiseUpJuly
