Mayor Huffman Invites You to Home for the Holidays-Christmastime in Southlake

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! On this week’s Minute with the Mayor, Mayor John Huffman cordially invites you to join us at the Home for the Holidays- Christmastime in Southlake event.

“So, every year we kick off the holiday season with our tree lighting event right here in Town Square, where you can eat lots of great food, hear some great Christmas carols, go down the snow hill, and watch all the lights turn on in Town Square,” said Mayor Huffman. “It’s the best way to get into the spirit of this wonderful season.”

The event takes place on Saturday, November 19, from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting taking place at 6 p.m.

Peggy Sward, the director of the children’s choir and the handbells choir at White’s Chapel Church will also be on site providing music for everyone to enjoy.

“Every year, the handbell choirs have come out here to participate in the Home for the Holidays event, and this will be our 13th year to celebrate with our City of Southlake,” said Sward.
