This week on Minute with the Mayor, Mayor John Huffman visits the freshly painted pickleball courts to talk with Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Talley and Councilmember Randy Williamson about the opening of the highly anticipated facility.
Grab your pickleball paddles and start practicing that swing – we are checking things off one at a time to get the Southlake Pickleball Facility up and running!
The new facility is sure to provide loads of fun for the community, from pickleball pros to beginners. Council members, Park Board members, and City staff have spent over a year planning ways to ensure a world-class experience for anyone who visits the new Southlake Pickleball Complex. From the moment players step on the courts to their interactions with staff, visitors will see a shining example of a premier facility at work.
“We’re so excited to see the facility taking shape,” Councilmember Randy Williamson said. “It’s one thing when you drive by for months and see the construction, but to actually see courts now all around us and to see the Southlake logo here on the paddle, we are getting very close to opening.”
Despite October’s heavy rains causing delays, the complex is now scheduled to open in mid-January.
“We can’t wait to see you and your families out here on the brand new pickleball courts making years and years of wonderful memories,” Mayor John Huffman said.
